Just wanted to send a quick note to say how impressed I am with your
MTB 350 wheels. I am 210 lbs and ride a hardtail fairly aggressively
(at least as far as XC riding goes).
The reviews I read all seemed to agree that the wheels would be strong
enough for a rider like me, but I was still a little skeptical. I planned
to use the wheels for racing only, but it soon became obvious I could
train on them as well. I now have nearly 1000 miles of rocky single
track on them (2000 miles total), and they have only required minor
truing on a couple of occasions. My previous wheels were about 400g
heavier and supposedly bulletproof, and they required constant truing.
Some people prefer “sexier” looking low spoke count wheels,
which have been successfully marketed to a sport with an insatiable
appetite for the latest cool looking gear. However, considering the
weight, price, durability, and ease of maintenance that the MTB 350
wheels offer, “sexy” is in the eye of the beholder.
Sometimes you find a product that makes you feel smart for buying
it, and this is one of those times. I am planning to purchase a pair
of Hurricane’s for my road bike in the near future. Thanks for
delivering what you promise.

Hey There!
I just wanted to let you all know that I am truly impressed with your
MTB wheels. I've been riding them for about 6 months and have been
thoroughly enjoying them. What really makes them stand out is their
sturdiness. This past weekend I was racing in Clemson, SC in the women
sport category. I made the hole shot and was feeling strong. About
1/2 way through the first lap, I went to pass this guy ahead of me.
As I started to make my move around him, he ran over a tree limb that
was about 2 1/2 feet long and at least 3 inches diameter. It kicked
up and lodged itself through my front wheel spokes sending me over
the bars. I was fine but all I could think about was how many broken
spokes could I ride on? I got up and was able to wrench the branch
out after three or four tries. I couldn't believe it, not one single
broken spoke! And to make it even sweeter, after I hooked the front
brake back up and spun the wheel, it was still trued!!! Needless to
say I breathed a quick thanks to the bike gods and American Classic!
I went on to my first sport win.
Thanks to everyone there for putting out a great wheel set! Heather Hatch |

Last weekend was the fist time I was able
to ride my new bike on the American Classic wheels. As I headed down
the street, I was thinking about all sorts of things related to work,
but NOT about the bike or the wheels or the tires.
Within a quarter mile, I suddenly realized the ride of this thing
was much different from what it had been on my prior rides on the loaner
Mavic wheels and tires. I noted a much smoother feel and much less
harshness over small bumps and over a few small potholes. Out on the
trail, I was bucking a solid 20-22 mph headwind, and it was also obvious
these are noticeably more aerodynamic wheels than the more expensive
Ksyrium wheels they had loaned me.
When I was in san Francisco, the guys there had raved about the Ksyrium
wheels and told me I should buy them instead of the American Classic
wheels I had ordered. The only other wheels I have owned with which
I thought I could detect such an aero advantage (based on a higher
gear and obtaining higher speeds by 1 - 3 mph over the same road under
similar wind conditions) were Spinergy Rev-X wheels. But those were
a bit unnerving when the wind was coming at an angle - I could feel
the tug from a cross wind and had to concentrate on tracking straight.
These American Classics seems little affected by wide wind loads.
So, short story - I really like these wheels Bud |

Alloy Cassette |

Hey Guys,
I just wanted to shoot you all an email and tell you how great I thought
my 12-25 aluminum conversion cassette works. I had a 70 road race last
weekend out here in CO and after being a little apprehensive about running
it on my American Classic Carbons, I decided to give it a shot. Not only
is it nice to drop those extra grams without blowing $400 on a Ti cassette
but it shifted just like a Campy cassette. I will definitely be passing
the word on to all our racers.
Keep up the good work,

Seatpost |

|

|
Just received my new 26.4
seatpost. Thanks for such speedy service. For less than $40 I have
an easily adjustable seatpost that is only 5g heavier than the new
Campagnolo carbon post that sells for around $130. I now have AC aluminum
posts on the three bikes I ride the most. I've had two of my American Classic seatposts longer
than I can remember. They're as light and functional now as when new
and have tens of thousands of miles on them.
Thanks providing a great product.

Hello,
Just wanted to say how pleased I am with the 420 wheels I got from
you, and put on my new bike.
Looks great, and rides even better. These are the best wheels I've
ever seen. Handsome, well built, fast and I can maintain them myself
(no boutique wheels for $200 more, and one pound heavier!).
Thanks and cheers, Philip Ganderton, PhD

Dear Bill,
I'd like to take this opportunity send a special "Thank You" for
building my custom ultra light wheelset. With your help, I managed
to "spec" out the hubs, rims, skewers, spokes, nipples and
lacing pattern that would produce the ultimate wheels for a very specific
purpose. The wheels arrived on time for my vacation and were exactly
as I had hoped. In appearance, they maintain the classic bicycle wheel
layout that I find so appealing, yet they are deceptively and unbelievably
light for a set of alloy clinchers. They've formed a synergistic mutualism
with my new carbon frame.
The complete bike weighs 15.5 pounds fully equipped with essentially
conventional components. It accelerates like nothing I have ever ridden
and climbs with barely a thought. Although I tend to reserve these
wheels for special events, I enjoy an occasional blast off the front
of the pack on our daily club rides. Climbing has once again become
an exhilarating and enjoyable experience while pain and suffering have
been deleted from my personal cycling lexicon. I hope they hold up
for a long time. I'm having way too much fun for my age. Thank you!
Best regards, Ron Hayashi |

Ellen; I just had
the Sports Garage, in Boulder, return my Sprint 350s to have them
relaced with the Sapim CX Ray spokes. You guys not only hooked me up with a great deal,
but after riding the wheels this weekend, I am absolutely amazed. They
are a new set of wheels, stiffer and lighter on top of that.
I am so glad you guys are out there doing what
you're doing. In
addition to the wheels, I have an AC bottom bracket that I love as
well. Weight is so critical in road racing, and with the quality
you guys put out, stiffness doesn't have to be sacrificed. American
Classic wheels are definitely the best combination of weight and stiffness
out there.
Thanks so much, Chad W. Coffman |
